New blog
I finally got my new blog software installed and my new gallery software. It seems to be performing very well and I have been very pleased with it.

Today is fathers day and I had a wonderful time. We went to Home Depot today and bought some flowers and planted them in front of the house on either side. I will be taking some pictures tomorrow evening and uploading this as well. So be on the look out.

Park Street Grill
Day Attended: 12/23/2006
For: Dinner
Overall Rating: 4/5
Service Rating: 3/5
Food Quality/Presentation: 5/5
Pricing: Average for quanity

Appetizer had:
Fried Portabella Mushrooms with homemade dipping sauce.

Dinner:
Cameron: Knox County Burrito
Whitney: 10oz Rib eye with Mashed Potato

I enjoyed the place very much, it was my first time there and not my last.

I enjoy that fact as soon as you sit down you gets some corn tortilla chips with some of Park Street Grills' homemade salsa free for the first helping. For each additional helping is only $1.50. What a steal, the salsa was amazing. I was very impressed.

The appetizer was amazing, I enjoyed the homemade dipping sauce very much for the fried mushrooms. Great flavor.

Dinner was just as good for me, however, Whitney was left disappointed while the 10 oz Rib eye did not even look it's size and she ordered it medium, but almost on the well done side of things. So that brought the rating down a bit. The service was pretty good, but the wait staff seemed a bit young and quite confused sometimes. Forgetting very simple things such as refilling water.

Overall if it came down to which place in Rockland I would go for Mexican food again, at this time it would be Park Street Grill. You get a lot more food for the money and rivals anything that Sunfire Mexican Grill is putting out at this time. I'm sure some of my buddies would like to see a fish taco at Park Street Grill, but I didn't see it on the menu.

Offshore Restaurant
Overall Rating: 3/5 stars
Pricing: Lunch: $6-$10 Dinner: $10.99-$24.99 per person

I would have to say the only reason I keep going back, is my wife loves the fried shrimp and I enjoy the salad bar. Even though they are one of the handful of restaurants with a salad bar. This one seems to be pretty good, but does need a little work. For example, the lettuce seems to be the cheapest possible greens mix that you can get at your local supermarket. I would like to see Romaine lettuce and some baby spinach.

I had a New York sirloin streak cooked medium to medium-well. The flavor was about a 3/5 but the amount of fat on the steak was ridiculous. It was a 12oz cut with about 7 of it looking to be fat. I had a side of bake potato which we pretty good. Whitney normally gets mashed potato but usually has this weird fish taste, so she decided not to.

I have had the Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Alfredo, both come with a nice piece of garlic toast. Both of these dishes are very good.

Service is overall a 4/5. The wait staff are very nice and quick answer questions and refill drinks.

Waterworks Restaurant and Pub
Overall Rating: 4/5 stars
Pricing: Lunch: $7-$12 person, Dinner: $10-$20 person

Normally I would say everything on the menu is great, but I have not had any seafood beyond fried shrimp. They have great prime rib, the house burger is another great choice. However my personal favorite is there grilled Reuben. I think it is the best in town. They also make frequent changes to the menu.

Most people are not aware the Waters works is under new ownership. Larry Reid purchased last year and is completely changed it around. The dinning room is being turned into a great sports lounge. He just bought a 60" TV and a 50" TV for lounge. However, I have not asked if they were LCD or Plasma or even old fashion rear projection.

Their appetizers are very good, I like the Potato wedges and Cajun Fried Shrimp.

The only thing I don't like, is depending on who is working in the kitchen it may take longer to get your food than other days. However food quality is still the same. The Bar and wait staff are generally really good and will take good care of you and seem to always do a little extra to make you happy and want to come back. No does not mean they give happy endings.

Sunfire Mexican Grill
Overall Rating: 4/5 stars
Pricing: Room for improvement

Food taste great, I have not had anything from the menu that I did not like. I usually get a "Super Burrito", which consists of lettuce, tomato, black beans or refried beans or both (both is usually what I get), onion and black olives. The "Super Burrito" comes with your choice of meat; Shredded Pork, Shredded Beef, Ground Beef or Chicken. I usually get the Shredded Pork, but if you like all of the above, I strongly encourage that you do. I have all the meats and all have a very unique flavor. I have also have had the "Vegetarian Burrito" with a $1 less than the "Super Burrito" @ $7.25. I have also had the "Chicken Quesadilla" which is quite good. I think that is also $7.25. Usually as an appetizer while we wait for our food we will get cheese nachos. They really good with there homemade salsa which only come in two styles, mild and hot. The price is fair for what you get. I think they run around $6.75 for cheese nachos.

The also make a good soup, but the downfall is, they don't have different pricing for it. They only offer it in a bowl and it very overpriced at $6.50. The bad part is the bowl is not that big. Not very filling if you expect to make a meal out of it. I would recommend they have a price for the soup as a dinner, but include at least a side or two. Have a price for a Cup, if you only want a small portion, and also have a lower price if your purchase an larger entree' such as their burritos.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the food, quick service and would highly recommend anybody try it. However, if you are not for spicy, just mention it to the waitress and they can bring it down a bit, but if you want it really spicy they also have a decent selection of hot sauces to choose from, I usually have the house hot sauce as I find the flavor and spice to be a good combination.

Thanks for reading and hope you find this review useful and please post comments about your experience.
